Learn about Oikos
Sandy and the band seek to create a very special program for your event. While we perform in a variety of venues, we are excited to focus on a program called Oikos in connection with our sponsoring agency, the Quo Vadis Institute.Founded in 2010, the Quo Vadis Institute is a charitable organization based in Salzburg, Austria. Motivated by a deep commitment to Europe, the Institute was established to engage in interdisciplinary discussions and provide a Christian perspective on various key issues, as well as to connect and support Christians in their work and ideas across Europe. Oikos in the New Testament is a rich, multifaceted term that encapsulates both the tangible and spiritual dimensions of life. It reflects the early Christian experience of living out faith within families and communities, while also pointing to the broader "household of God" that transcends earthly boundaries. Oikos encompasses the entire "household," including family members, servants, and sometimes extended relatives or dependents. This highlights the communal nature of faith and responsibility in early Christianity, where the head of the household often influenced the spiritual direction of all its members. The primary aim of our effort is to work with a smaller group of people to provide unique ideas and drive helping them to be effective change agents in their communities. Consider hosting a house concert in your own home to experience this unique blending of entertainment and content. You can purpose the event to highlight a personal passion or to encourage connection and fellowship among people you know. Contact us to let us know what you have in mind and to see how we can support your vision.
